My role
People, culture and change are the key focus. Operations environments are typically ‘doing’ spaces. Improvement and innovation require more than just doing. Engagement, communication, collaboration, integration and transformation don’t just happen. My role is to highlight and develop what is often the ‘missing bit’ of a sustainable operations environment … the capability to sustainably ‘do-better’ in the future, not just 'do' in the now!
What I love about my role

Releasing human potential. Simply put ... helping. Technology can be an enabler, and it can also present challenges. Assisting people and businesses to find a balance between ‘man and machine’ in our modern world is rewarding. Without fun, meaning and purpose in work, the human spirit is sapped. I like to Zapp!

Don’t follow the crowd. There are so many generic, cookie-cutter ‘solutions’ being pushed constantly at businesses nowadays. Homogeneity doesn't equal competitive advantage! Take time out to do a simple stock-take (make a list) to remind yourself why your business is different. Make decisions and develop processes and tools to maximise that difference!

My role
Systems, process and quality are the key focus. Continuous improvement and process reengineering have been my focus ever since I was a wide-eyed Production Engineer at Goyen Controls. Measuring, monitoring and understanding processes, and then driving improvement and adding value are what I bring to AstuteOps clients.
What I love about my role
Making a positive impact in the daily working lives of operations staff and leadership.
As Astute Ops we bring the tools, techniques and continuous improvement focus, and when you combine that with an engaged work force and leadership, the outcome is a cultural change.
