DIFOTAS? Sorry, don’t you mean DIFOT?
No. So what is the important difference?
DIFOT = Delivery In-Full On-Time
DIFOTAS = Delivery In-Full On-Time As-Specified
DIFOT does not factor in ‘the quality that customers value’. Many businesses value ‘getting it out the door on-time’ (sometimes a partial delivery, not even ‘in-full’).
They justify this on the grounds of keeping a customer promise (the agreed date). None of which signals quality.
So DIFOTAS literally means DIFOT + QUALITY

A business that demonstrates a commitment to quality in their in-full, on-time philosophy creates a competitive advantage in 2 important ways:
Consistently producing quality that customers value builds loyalty and reputation;
Quality focus naturally leads to elimination of variation and waste, which in turn supports profitability and sustainability
Does your business perform multiple deliveries for the same customer orders? Maybe you are regularly stopping jobs along the production line for a variety of recurring reasons? Do you have a high product return rate? Maybe on-site installers report missing components or defective product? Are you regularly diverting staff in order to ‘right wrongs’?

AstuteOps can help you to embed a DIFOTAS culture into your business and take the ‘noise’ out of your operations.
